We won't have reform until we get the for-profit companies out of the system. "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." We can't have liberty or happiness without life. The government has a duty to provide medical care. 45,000 people die each year without care. That's 15 9/11s. We've spent trillions on the wars, but we can't spend 1 trillion on our own that are dying from lack of care. That's wrong.

Reform, what is reform, what seems to be presented is a new way of providing not reform. While I believe a lot of folks want lower cost, new coverage methods may not be answer. At present no matter if you have coverage or not if you go to a hospital in need of care they must take care of you. Today's ER are more like doctor's office where one gets care for minor illness. The costs for this care plus the major care for those unisured are born not by the hospital but those who pay for service. As with other business all customers share the cost of business, and the cost of business here is the unisured
We need to address those who are not insured, illegals and others who increase the costs. A pool of monies for each hospital to care for these, or to claim for their care and maybe the hospital would not have to share the burden with us thereby lowering costs
The True Goal
